چکیده

This paper presents the underlying theory for a process calculus featuring process creation and sequential composition instead of the more usual parallel composi tion and action pre xing in a setting where mobility is achieved by communicating channel names We discuss the questions of scope and name binding raised by the interaction of mobility and sequential composition Substitution of names is integrated as a syntactic operator in the calculus We present an axiomatic the ory for the calculus and show its soundness and completeness w r t bisimulation equivalence

Thomas Gehrke Arend Rensink Process Creation and Full Sequential Composition in a Name - Passing Calculus

This paper presents a first attempt to formulate a process calculus featuring process creation and sequential composition, instead of the more usual parallel composition and action prefixing, in a setting where mobility is achieved by communicating channel names. We discuss the questions of scope and name binding, raised by the interaction of mobility and sequential composition. Substitution of...

-calculus, internal mobility, and agent-passing calculi

The-calculus is a process algebra which originates from CCS and permits a natural modelling of mobility (i.e., dynamic reconngurations of the process linkage) using communication of names. Previous research has shown that the-calculus has much greater expressiveness than CCS, but also a much more complex mathematical theory. The primary goal of this work is to understand the reasons of this gap...

Behavioural Subtyping in Name Passing Synchronisation Trees

We present a general theory of behavioural subtyping for name passing interactive behaviours using early name-passing synchronisation trees. In this theory types are collections of name passing synchronisation trees organised by typed variants of process-theoretic operations, and a simple behavioural notion of subtyping speciies when one type denotes more constrained behaviours than another, oo...

On the Expressiveness of Polyadicity in Higher-Order Process Calculi (Extended Abstract)

In higher-order process calculi the values exchanged in communications may contain processes. We describe a study of the expressive power of strictly higher-order process calculi, i.e. calculi in which only process passing is allowed and no name-passing is present. In this setting, the polyadicity (i.e. the number of parameters) allowed in communications is shown to induce a hierarchy of calcul...
